Day 62/ and trad about it?

Wanted to feature a trad focused post. Double breasted sport coats, and suits seem to be visible nationally, lately. They are usually more sophisticated items but there are some great ways of toning the stuffiness done. I do it with khakis and desert boots. Keep the shirt solid and simple.

In the GQ spring preview, I saw someone wearing a DB sport coat unbuttoned as a way of wearing an upscale, expensive piece more casually. In the spirit of emulation and experimentation: here is my shot at mixing the highs and the lows.

Day 46

One of the great aspects about dressing for my job is the relative spectrum of "business casual". I can wear a three piece suit one day a week, and I can wear jeans and no tie one day a week, and everything in between. I love these levi's; I have had them for nearly a year and washed them 7 times, possibly.

Day 37/ Cashmere Sportcoat for the WIN!

A few weeks ago Winter struck, and cottons, seer suckers, ginghams had to be put away. And that meant my only navy blazer, cotton/ linen, was put away. I had remarked to my dad (my ultimate style hero) that I needed a wool blazer to wear the other 2 season out of the year; I happened to find it yesterday. This is a cashmere navy sportcoat! It is really warm, and the fit is incredible off  the rack. I am so appreciative to whoever returned this piece online so that I could pick it up in our J Crew clearance factory center.

Day 33

A Frigid Morning as Asheville eases into winter and rain.
This suit still needs to have its leg holes taken in but overall its fit is much better. This suit and a cashmere scarf kept me warm...til it started rainy. Need my trench after that. The shirt and tie pairing is classic me. I have worn these two together for a long time. Winter is here no more pant cuffing, or rolling. And socks are now a must. Need some corgi socks!

Day 21/ Classic American

Peak lapels. Double Breasted. Cashmere. These are the three things I love about this glenn plaid sport coat. I would have loved to have had this as a whole suit, but the trousers were never produced.  The grey is perfectlty muted, I think. I am trying to evoke a classic american appearance. Yesterday I replaced my old frames. They had lasted me a decade. I hope these ray bans will, too.
