Day 54/ Dark Base with shots of color/pocket squares

I started with a really dark base. Then I wanted just a small amount of color to balance it out. This red gun check cotton pocket square is homemade and perfect for this sort of thing.

Day 34

Bitterly cold; gray and blue skies prevail.
Chances of rain, and after yesterday's downpour, I have not forgotten my trench or my duck boots.
This tweedy, herringbone suit is VERY warm. I had the pants tailored long ago, they may be due to go back in, with the jackey in tow. On a less rainy, mucky day I would def pair this suit with wingtip boots.

Day 26/ Lighten Up/ Pattern Mixing

I started with a very dark, muted base. The trousers are glenn plaid patterned but, it is very subtle. The combat boots are a nice even choclate brown.
So, up top I wanted to really lighten everything up. The 40 year old light grey herringbone does all that work.
As for the patterns, there are a lot of patterns hidden throughout. The shirt is a pencil stripe red, and white pattern with herringbone on top of it, the check gingham pocket square all on top of glenn plaid trousers.

Day 18/ Bow ties and Grey Scale.

I dedicate this day to a fine, long Southern style tradition: Bow ties. We have always worn bow ties; they have never waxed or waned in the Southern style world. In the South, we are blessed with the ability to wear certain items like no others (just a few eg. bow ties, seer sucker, white bucks).

Day 17

All over town today. It is very blustery; heavy materials, sunshine and heavy wind are great combinations. I love this plaid shirt, and dark sport coat. I have worn them alot together over the last 2 years. I think sub consciously I am trying to squeeze in two Fall 2010 fabrics: Tweed and Corduroy, and wear a seperate vest as well.
